A New Direction

   I'm very happy to announce that the LUG is back! we will be having our next meeting this weekend. A number of core members in the LUG have met up and reviewed the direction and focus of the LUG. After much brainstorming and discussion we are happy to announce that we have decided to widen the scope of the group to include many more activities and topics. With the new direction also comes a new identity. We plan to call the group "Open Source Bahrain", to reflect the spirit of covering all things open source even if they don't happen to be Linux related. We have worked hard to put our vision into words through a Statement of Strategic Intent which you can find at http://linuxbahrain.com/strategic_intent.
   In this upcoming meeting we plan to present the new strategy and to have an open discussion about our new direction with all the members. We invite you all and anyone you think might be interested in joining and expanding Open Source Bahrain. I'd like to thank all the hard work and effort of all the guys who helped forge this new direction and strategy. We are all looking forward to executing it and making it a reality.
